I felt much, much better today in the water. I went to two aerobics classes first, and then swam another mile. This mile went much quicker with the absence of pain!! However, there were tons of people at the pool, and tons of lap swimmers. I ended up having to circle swim with people that I had to keep passing- that't part of the reason that the swimming stopped after 66 lengths.
One of my lanemates was really good about letting me go around him. The other, the older man was not. I do not know if he didn't notice me or it was just annoying to him but I had to speed up to get around him every time. I must say though that when I had to sprint to get around him.. I felt like I did have my speed back- even though it only lasted for a few seconds :)
One of the lap swimmers told me to tap his feet if I wanted around- so that tells me he must have been on some kind of swim team or something. However, I hate tapping feet, and I hate getting my feet tapped! So, I didn't do it. I did used to tap my friend's feet on the high school team at practice. haha, I know it really made her mad, but it helped us train harder and get faster... we had a nice little practice rivalry :)
I ended up getting out early not as much because it was annoying for me to have to pass... I know that it is really annoying for the others to always have to stop and to always be wondering if someone is coming up on them and worrying that you are in their way. Lap swim is for recreation.. so I don't like for it to be like that.
